Batanga Cocktails With Tequila Blanco Lime Juice Cola And Salt

The Batanga is a delightfully simple cocktail that combines tequila, lime juice, and cola, served in a glass with a salted rim. It’s a refreshing twist on the rum-based classic Cuba Libre, showcasing the rich flavors of tequila. This unique concoction is credited to Don Javier Delgado, the brilliant mind behind La Capilla in Tequila, Mexico. Since its creation in 1961, the Batanga has gained popularity across Mexico and is known for being expertly stirred with a long, wood-handle knife that was once used to chop up limes. Making its rounds on social media, it’s predicted by some to be the summer cocktail of 2024.
