Brainstorm Cocktail With Irish Whiskey Benedictine Herbal Liqueur And Extra Dry Vermouth

A rather unknown classic cocktail of the early 20th century, the Brainstorm is an elegant cocktail. With balanced notes of Bénédictine over a spiritous Irish whiskey base and extra dry vermouth. First appearing in Hugo R. Ensslin’s 1917 Recipes for Mixed Drinks (2nd edition) which also appears in Harry Craddock’s 1930 The Savoy Cocktail book. This adaptation is a balance of sweet, bitter and strong elements makes this a wonderful after dinner drink or a perfect digestif following lunch.

2 oz IRISH WHISKEY
.25 oz HERBAL LIQUEUR, Bénédictine D.O.M.
.25 oz EXTRA DRY VERMOUTH, Noilly Prat
