Named after the Edwardian musical Florodora, a turn of the 20th century musical comedy that was widely popular on Broadway following its success in London. It was famous for its line of Florodora Girls who were “a sextette of tall, gorgeous damsels, clad in pink walking costumes, black pictures hats and carrying pink frilly parasols who swished on to the stage and captivated New York for no other reason than they were utterly stunning.”
The Clover Club is a similar drink with the same gin, lime juice, and raspberries ingredients.
For a spirit free cocktail, simply exclude the gin, and you’re left complex but balanced and refreshing non-alcoholic drink.
