Hot Buttered Rum is a comforting mixture of rum, butter, honey, hot water, and various warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. This mixed drink is usually enjoyed in the cold-weather months and is traditionally enjoyed during the holiday season. Its history dates back to colonial days, when Jamaica began importing rum to the American Colonies in the 1650s. Today there are many variations and twists on this cold-weather classic.
