Margarita Cocktail With Tequila Triple Sec Orange Liqueur Lime Juice Agave Syrup Salted Rim Shaken Cocktail

This cult classic is shrouded in lore with endless claims to its origin. Myths aside, what we know is that Margarita (Spanish for “daisy”) is most closely related to the Brandy Daisy and the Sidecar for their spirit, liqueur, and citrus formula from which it likely evolved. Its impact on the cocktail world is evident in the countless variations on this tequila-based drink and is perhaps the most popular vessel for the agave spirit.

The classic recipe calls for tequila, orange liqueur (preferably Cointreau), fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Most notably, we highly recommend making the effort for freshly squeezed lime juice. It is the key element in making a great Margarita. The iconic glassware and salted rim are, of course, left optional.
