Piña Verde Tropical Cocktail With Green Chartreuse Pineapple Juice Cream Of Coconut Lime Juice Blended Frozen Drink

The Piña Verde is an herbal twist on the classic Piña Colada. This green-Chartreuse-fueled tropical drink was inspired by Erick Castro of San Diego’s Polite Provisions. Originally, Castro had been adding a green Chartreuse float to his Piña Coladas, he ultimately decided to scrap the spirit base and upped the liqueur. This allowed Chartreuse to take center stage, supported by pineapple juice, lime juice, and Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut.

The Piña Verde’s creamy-citrus-herbaceous flavors are surprisingly balanced. It became bi-coastal when Castro began serving it at New York’s Boilermaker where it quickly became a best seller and started to appear on menus across the country. It is playfully referred to as the “Green-yuh Colada.”
