The Planter’s Punch is a classic “Tiki” style cocktail. It was first recorded in 1878, but its origin is believed to go back to the late 18th-century in Jamaica. Made of rum, citrus, and a sweetener, it is said it was created to keep workers cool in the Caribbean heat. It joins other tropical classics like the Piña Colada, Jungle Bird, and the Zombie.
This is a single serving punch recipe, but it can be easily done in a large batch format. Simply multiply for desired total serving size.
For a spirit free cocktail, simply exclude the rum and this booze-free drink still has the same feeling of being transported to an exotic faraway island.
