Created in 2002 by London’s Townhouse bar bartender Douglas Ankrah, the Porn Star Martini is only martini in name. It has grown into a modern classic since it inception. Its main ingredients passion fruit liqueur and purée are combined with vanilla vodka and lime juice create a fruit-forward and zesty cocktail.
While the name has been controversial, Ankrah has said he did not name the Porn Star Martini to be intensionally provocative but rather because it’s “pure indulgence…sexy, fun, and evocative.” Some establishments have chosen to rename the drink to the Passion Star Martini.
Regardless of the sensitivity to its name it is traditionally served with a glass of chilled champagne on the side. It’s served as a suggested palate cleanser between sips.

VANILLA VODKA
.5 oz
PASSION FRUIT LIQUEUR, Preferably Passoã or De Kuyper
2 oz
PASSION FRUIT PURÉE, Juice of 1 and a half passionfruits
.5 oz
LIME JUICE, Fresh is best
2 oz
CHAMPAGNE, served separately
