Zombie Dark Rum Light Rum Gold Rum Aged Rum Apricot Brandy Pineapple Juice Lime Juice Iced Cocktail

The Zombie is a tropical cocktail created by the pioneering Donn Beach at his Hollywood restaurant in 1934, called Don the Beachcomber. The bar’s menu created drinks based on the formula of fresh fruit juices, exotic fruits, and lots of rum. The restaurant reportedly limited customers to no more than two Zombies because of the drink’s potency. According to Beach, it could make one “like the walking dead.”

The cocktail joins the family of other rum-based tropical drinks like the Rum Swizzle, Jungle Bird and the slightly less potent Planter’s Punch.
