Single Malt Scotch, Cynar, and sweet vermouth come together to create a flavorful and potent cocktail in the Sin Cyn. Created by Philadelphia bartender Paul Dellevigne, he starts with Macallan 12 for the Scotch, it’s full-bodied from the Speyside region in Scotland. Then Cynar, a low-proof amaro, is made from 13 herbs and plants, most prominently artichokes. And Finally Carpano Antica Formula, a rich sweet vermouth with notes of vanilla and spice. Each of these ingredients is measured in equal parts, making the construction easy.

The Sin Cyn is part
Rob Roy (scotch, sweet vermouth, bitters) and part Boulevardier (bourbon, Campari, sweet vermouth). In the latter case, bourbon is swapped for Scotch and Cynar takes the place of Campari, another bitter Italian liqueur. It results in a similar rich and warming whiskey drink that has herbal and bittersweet notes.
