Mention Corpse Revivers, and most cocktail enthusiasts will think of the pre-Prohibition favorite, Corpse Reviver No. 2, with gin, Lillet blanc, orange liqueur, lemon juice and absinthe. Named for their unique effect to wake the dead, in other words, the ability to cure a hangover. There is a whole family of cocktails that riff on the original No.1 (Cognac, Calvados, and sweet vermouth).
The Tequila Corpse Reviver is one of those variations, but with a couple twists. Created by blogger and recipe developer Matt Armato, this drink features blanco tequila in place of gin and triple sec instead, absinthe, and citrus juices. While this zesty cocktail is complex and flavorful, it’s not particularly boozy.
