Before the Irish Coffee and Espresso Martini gained popularity in the United States, The Coffee House made its appearance in “The Saloon in the Home or a Garland of Rumblossoms”, a satirical cocktail guide published in the 1930s by George S. Chappell and Ridgley Hunt, both Yale-educated humorists. In order to adapt this classic recipe for modern enjoyment, Richie Boccato of Fresh Kills has skillfully transformed it into an Old Fashioned-style cocktail, while still preserving the delightful warmth and aromatic spices found in its original ingredients.
