The Cuba Libre, or more affectionately known as Rum and Coke, is a simply-made three-ingredient cocktail. The details of its origin are debated but it is certain that in early 1900 Havana during the Spanish-American War, it was created to toast to the freedom of Cuba. The drink shares its Cuban heritage with the other widely popular classic, the Daiquiri.
