This rum-based cocktail is recognized as the national drink of Martinique and Guadalupe. Ti’ Punch, short for “petite punch,” is most popular amongst the French speaking Caribbean islands. Its key ingredient is rhum agricole, a type of rum that is distilled from sugar cane instead of molasses. It is then mixed with a lime wedge and simple syrup (or cane syrup).
Ti’ Punch is customarily consumed as an apéritif and served neat but modern variations often serve it on the rocks. The drink’s closest relatives are the Cuban Daiquiri and the Brazilian Caipirinha.
Ingredients
